Hydrophone

Hey all,
I've been doing leak detection for about 15 yrs on pools, plumbing, sewers etc... I started out with American Leak Detection in the Los Angeles area and have started my own Inc. Working for American, we had a tool called the "Leak Tell" which would indicate a leak in a pool or spa, basiclally a high speed bucket test. Obviously a handy tool in the middle of winter saving a lot of cold swims. Curious if the hydrophone can save some chilly days by hearing light, main drain or structure leaks? Any feedback is appreciated

Yes it will, not all leaks but some if there's enough water volume and static pressure to make some noise. The hydrophone may not hear much until it's pretty close to the leak. Squirt some water out a syringe to get a clue to the sound you're seeking.
