Can anyone give me some help as to if the XLT30H is worth the $1000 extra? I haven't seen either of these used so I just don't know....

Geophones will get you over the leak if there is no other noise at your poolsite.
The nice thing about the Fisher is the filters to screen out traffic, airplanes, etc. Sometimes the leak is deep and you need to filter out higher frequencies and if you do municipal or other slab leaks or irrigation leaks you need the best equipment.
I prefer the better equipment because it can give me an edge over my competitors and get me to the leak sooner so I can get out of the yard and on to the next leak.
