I've been asked to find a leak, likely to be on the pressure side, in a liner pool (UK Cascade) with an Aqua Genie skimmer.

Is it possible to gain access to the 1.5" pipe on the inlet to enable a pressure test?

Yes, remove the genie rectangular plate, inside in the lower back is the pipe, in some models i have to cut a #9 plug to half it's normal height to fit it in, in some the whole plug fits and in some i can use a threaded plug, PT at very low pressure.
They sometimes leak at the gasket that will be exposed and you can dye test after you take the plate out

Thanks Bruce for the info - the pool has had a major refurb with a new liner, pump & filter but a pre-existing leak continues. The skimmer and pipework is all that remains so this shouldn't be too challenging.

putting a #9 plug in the hole only tells you if the pipe is leaking.....i've seen the return chamber of the aqua genia cracked before. Up here in the northeast.....we use homemade rubber gaskets used for winterization of the return chamber to pressure test the pipe as well as the chamber at the same time. Just be sure to hold your finger over the chlorine feeder tube during the testing.
