Hey Guys, things have slowed up a bit this month and I have been trying to think of ways to market. Anyone have any new ideas? I was thinking of trying a refferal company like Service Magic. Any feedback or slick tricks will be greatly appreciated!

I tried to set -up with service magic but there a pain to work with unless i did it wrong, which is possible. I have slowed down to so
I started calling some of the other pool service companies to see if they have any sometimes it pans out other times not.
Good Luck

service magic is a good idea. but in my business it really doesnt work. I only perform leak detection and dont build or replace liners. So for me, service magic would not work out b because people call their pool company when they have a leak. They dont really know who to look for or where so they rely strictly on the information the get from a pool company. With service magic, and if you dont install l iners or other pool service. i think you are just throwing your money away

I just canceled SM.
They're catagories are not specific enough for leak repair. You will end up paying for leads that you do not service.

I like the marketing part of the business. We should be marketing all year to keep the pipeline full.
Whatever you do, take good care of the "poolman".
We put on BBQ lunches at all pool supply warehouses. They remember getting free food a long time after it's served.

Thanks for the replies, greatly appreciated. Sdewolfe, we also do the bbq's at local supply houses as well as set up literature etc... It works pretty well and allows a face to face meeting which I think is good. Thanks again to all who replied.

My wife does it. At least once a week and sometimes at more than one market! ;)
