I have an xlt 17 although the sound is clearer, I have a hard time pinpointing leaks as good as I could with my old xlt16 and xlt20
The meter is not as sensitive or maybe to sensitive. With the older analog leak finders the meter would give a different reading as little as a foot or two away, Were as the 17 sometimes it may be 4 to 5 ft or more. Am I the only one with this problem? Could it be my leak finder? I can still pinpoint I just takes a lot longer and I have to pay more attention to the sound and not the meter.

Lance will tell you the same. trust your ear more than trust the meter. I have had the meter register no increase in that sense, but my ear could hear the leak.
