Vinyl leaks

I have been in the pool service business for about ten years. I have always relied on specialists for any leak detection/repair. I purchased the package from Anderson last year and will start utilizing it this coming spring. My question is does any one have any methods for repairing vinyl liner leaks without going into the water?

Hey, Mark!
Welcome to the party!

Sure you can patch a liner without going in the water.
It takes some practice.
Cut some circular patches and practice putting one on the end of a pool brush attached to a telepole. Slowly push the patch down keeping a smooth motion until you get to the pool floor (or wall) Pick a spot to land the patch.
It takes 2 or 3 times to get the hang of it.
When you are comfortable with your skill, you can add glue to the patch, go for the leak and smooth it out with the brush.

Hi Mark, we have used the pole method to patch cold liners, works well with practice. Have a new method now, send someone else in to stick the patch!:)

Thats all well said and done. How do you verify that once you apply the patch, that its not leaking? I apply a patch, and verify with additional dye injection to verify its applied correctly? in my book, bottom line, some one is going in the water.
