recycle copper windings
Does anyone have an Idea on how to recycle the outer copper winding in a pool motor? I run across 1-2 a week and Ive tried grinding, cutting- etc. to
strip the copper from the iron. Maybe a log spliter?

Up here in sunny Vancouver B.C. (not today) I take old motors complete with housing etc to the scrap metal dealers and they pay by the pound for the
whole thing. Not as much as straight copper but no work involved

i use a sawsall an cut one or both sides as close as possible with a fine tooth blade to the steel as you can. Then take an place in a vice, take a long
thin punch and gently work your way alittle at a time tapping in each hole around the whole thing. After you succeed on a few it gets easier. must
take care not to bend or hammer on the thin steel plates, cause once deformed then it really becomes more work then its worth. Good Luck!
