Commercial pools with gutters and a surge tank have two bodies of water. The LZ only measures one body of water. In a homeowner pool you do a pump on
test, pump off test, and a lines plugged test and make your conclusions. A gutter/surge tank setup would not allow the same tests, valuable tests
could be done on a commercial pool and or surge tank with the system off.

yes it works on pools with gutters
We have used the Leakalyzer many times in commercial pools with gutters. The hardest part about it is setting up the base plate to reach into the main
body of water to perform the test. We have used many different items in order to make it possible to place the float in the main body of water and not
just above the gutters. Currently we are using a massive block of metal.
To use it on the pool we shut off the main drain and scum gutters to separate the tank from the pool and go from there. After you figure out if either
body is leaking you can then open up the valves and do a pump on test to help figure out if you have a suction or pressure leak in the lines.
