XLT 17 - hydrophone
Hey guys,
I hope all is well! I just wanted to shoot you guys a message just to see if anyone can help me with my problem. I have the hydrophone but I'm
unable to find leaks with it as I am not hearing that "wooshing sound". Is there something that I am not doing correctly? Is it very sensitive and
I can hear the microphone picking things up but not leaks. Does any one have any tricks?
Thanks!

We use a hydrophone on the XLT 17, usually after we have found the leak by other methods !
Its a good way of getting to hear what you need to be listening for.

The hydrophone for me has been my least favorite way of finding leaks. Many times where it would come in handy the nearby traffic noises has rendered
it useless.
I've used it a couple of times with success on the tile line where my dye wasn't being pulled in from anywhere yet the Leakalyzer was saying that
the leak was at the bottom of the tile. It showed me the section of the pool that was leaking. We pulled off the tile in that area and found a beam
crack. This was truley the only time where the hydrophone shined where nothing else would.
