How to remove swim jet retainer ring?
Googled images of swim jets. It looks like they used two Waterway swim jets for fiberglass spas gunited into the pool. The outlet has a retainer ring
and is about one inch. I need to pressurize the line behind the outlet and the retainer ring only has 3 tiny nubs sticking out of the inside diameter
of the retaining ring.
Looked up all the jet removal tools from Horizon and SPP both out of Arizona.
I called Waterway and talked with their tech service. They were no help.
I also looked for spreading pliers that are adjustable to fit past the large jet nozzle and between it and the retaining ring. No success. Any
suggestions?

Thanks, Sdewolfe! I've used that trick in the past, plenty of times. Unfortunately, these little nubs are only about 1mm and they are not facing the
front. They are on the inside diameter of the retaining ring. So, any other suggestions by anyone would be welcome.

if u drained water down you could torch the end of a tool and lightly melt it into the plastic. or just break it

That's a good idea about the torch. I used to use that trick when 4000 series Purex fiberglass reinforced plastic filters first came out. They came
with a 1/4" plastic nipple that would break off inside the filter. I tried an EZ out the first time it happened and cracked the lid! Then I learned
about the heated slot head screwdriver trick.

Bought some snap ring reversing pliers with multiple tips today, also. May get lucky with them.

Finally received reply from Warerway:
"Yes that is the Waterway Swim Jet. The front eyeball can be removed by unscrewing the threaded ring behind it but we do not sell any type of wrench
for it since the Swim Jet is not designed for gunite but fiberglass or steel walls.
As always, if you have any questions or if I can be of any assistance, please contact me."
It's not their fault, by the way. There is plenty more problems the way that this 2 year old pool/spa combo was built. It's just the tip of the tip
of the iceberg.
