A _____ fell into the pool!
I was just up at the Canadian Pool and Spa Show and during my presentation we discussed the fact that almost everyone has had to fix holes in the
bottom of vinyl liner pools that result from kids trying to pole vault across the pool with the vacuum pole. This inspired stories of many other
interesting things that had gotten into pools and caused leaks.
The list included: Moose, bear, a mortorcycle, and more.
Anybody else have a story of something that wasn't supposed to be there falling into a pool? Tell us about it.

Pry bar
We had to remove a rusty pry bar from a vinyl in ground pool. Over the winter one of the kids at the residence was trying to break apart the ice that
had accumilated ontop of the safety mesh cover, they broke the ice with the prybar and also stabbed a hole threw the cover and the ice below the
cover. The pry bar sank and we dove into the murky water to retrieve in in the spring. Oh and also there wasn't a leak from the pry bar.

Wow... I thought I had a great story telling everyone that I took out a deer. A moose definitely beats me though. In addition, a water logged skunk
is something that I wish not even on my worst enemy... Great website by the way Lance & co. Kudo's to you!

Railroad track
Went to a leak call where the owner used concrete blocks (good for business) and pieces of railroad track to secure his tarp-type cover on the pool. A
two foot piece of track was on the slope of the vinyl pool but did not pierce the liner. The leak was elsewhere. I was amazed that the heavy iron track dropped through 4 feet of water and left the
liner undamaged.

Got a call to an above ground pool and found a bush called "Rose of Sharon" growing about 4 inches through the vinyl. The host bush was about 5
feet from the side of the pool, so the root grow about 7 feet from the bush and pushed up through the vinyl.

got a call from a guy in april. says he noticed he was losing water since september. Then it was he was losing water for the past two week. Then he
tried to tell me he just filled up his pool two days prior with 12000 gallons of water. humm, dove the pool under the cover. The smell of beer on his
breath and the fact that he was wearing camoflauge interested me. When i surfaced from the pool I asked him if he was a bow hunter (hint, camoflauge,
not so much the beer) and he said he was. I asked him if this was his arrow. which i recovered from the pool. Which he then proclaimed he was looking
for six months he shot it and lost it. It was sticking in the side of the pool surround by shrubs. guess it was a water loss for six months and not
two weeks.

Every now and then we'll get a call to blow a clog out of a line. I had one a few months ago and the lady was just going on and on about how much
she hates her now ex-husband. They had been divorced only for a few months and she truly hated that man.
Well, I blew out the line and found a wiffle-style golf ball covered in grass and debris in the pump basket. One side of it was crumpled in as if it
had been pushed into the pump intake pipe! Further, the wiffle golf ball sinks and they had no main drain or automatic floor cleaner... only a
skimmer! They had no kids, so unless he chipped it right into the skimmer after removing the basket, there's no way it "accidentally" ended up in
the pipe.
When I told her my findings, I didn't reveal anything about it looking like it was intentionally rammed in the pipe. She assumed that was the case.
I kept my mouth shut and just wrote out the invoice!
