Why can consumers see this message board??

I jumped in here the other day and noticed that I wasn't logged in. o me that means that anyone looking on this website has access to this forum and can see conversations about prices and also how to make their own repairs, in some cases. I was always under the impression that this forum was only open to pool service companies.

Can anyone verify if my findings are correct and if this situation can, or should be changed??

Thanks

4Leakman, I just checked it out. I wasn't logged in and tried to access the message board. It sent me to a registration page. That's a good step, but it doesn't necessarily mean that Joe Poolowner can't just register and then log in and check out the message board.

By the way, I'm not American Leak Detection that people have referred to as ALD in other posts.

We set up the "Professional "section of our site so that if you (a registered user) navigated to leaktools.com on the same computer you had previously logged in or registered on, you would be taken directly to the Professional page. This page has a link to this message board. I have noticed (thanks to your posts) that when you get to the message board via this route it shows that you are not logged into the message board . . in order to log in you must go back . .log out of leaktools.com and then log back in (ie get to the professiojnal page by actually entering your username and password). This is a glitch that we must and will fix. However, no one is able to get to the message board unless they have at some point registered on our site. We keep a fairly close eye on who registers every day. You do not have to be concerned that pool owners are viewing what is posted here.

Thanks for bringing up this issue.

Message Board

Hi Lance...

I would have thought that no one off the street could check in but when saw the message, and I was NOT logged in I got a bit nervous. Thanks for straightening that out. I did sign on to the site from another computer and did get the correct "fill out this form" page.
Thanks Lance & crew...

And while I have your attention, fill us in on the new bucket tester!!! ;)
