I hope all is well. I saw your post about the hydrophone. How does this help you find leaks? I don’t know much about it!
To answer J's question easily would be to direct him to Anderson's web page on hydrophones. Log on and go to the the store. Then click listening

To take advantage of the hydrophone you need a Fisher XLT with a hydrophone. Drop it in the water close to likely places to find a leak. My XLT 30
starts amplifying static leak noise at @ 10" to 12". My ears can't hear water escaping above this level so checking skimmer throats with it is
useless for me. In the beginning you're going to hear some weird noises that will become familar like weir doors banging on the door stop or water
dripping off the bottom of a skimmer and hitting pipes or rocks below. When you get close to a fast static leak you'll know it because the headphones
will rock your world! Sounds like a microphone in a hurricane.
I also like having some fun with the probe mic. If I see a bug walk by I'll listen to his foot steps. Kids love hearing that and it builds customer
confidence. Later I'll ask everyone to go inside so I can find the leak.
