New to forum
Hi there,
I just wanted to say hello to all the pool pros out there and post a question.
We went years and years w/o the listening devices and only used dyes, now I am finding it harder to sell leak detection and repair w/o the listening
device. Is it just the sign of the times? If so I'm ready to leave the cave.

Welcome to this forum.
I suspect you are going to get a lot of responses indicating that the more professional you are, the more equipment (tools) you'll employ in the
business of locating leaks.
I started as a pool tech in 1974 in So Calif and when we had a leak in a pool, we let it leak down and stop. We didn't have the electronics that are
available now but we did have geophones and we usually called some old dude (I was 18 so everyone else was old) who said dig here. We were wrong more
times than we were right because the main part of our jobs was cleaning and repairing pools, not leak detection. Once I became a businessman and leak
detector primarily it didn't take long to figure out that I needed a reputation of accuracy and electronics greatly increases that goal especially
with broken pipes and large decks.
Good luck and welcome to the world outside the cave!

Thanks for the reply Sdewolfe. I am out of the cave.
I decided that I lost too many jobs to the electronics.
