XLT17 vs XLT30
To those of you who have experience with both XLT models, is there enough difference between the 17 & 30 to justify the additional $1,000, or do
they do basically the same thing.

I think if all you do are pools the 17 will do you. We did municipal and slab and commercial and the (20) or 30 has more filters for traffic noise
cancellation and frequency isolation.
You can find leaks with a geophone too with less accuracy tho...
We would port the sound into a laptop and that helped us see the frequency spectrum peaks better than the meter they had on the 20 at the time

They all work
I have an XLT 16 and an XLT 30 plus I also carry a Metrotech 4000 on the truck.
I would say that I use the XLT 16 95 percent of the time. I don't find the XLT 30 any better either with it's filtering or it's sensitivity
capabilities. In actuality the XLT 16 is easier to use and faster to adjust as you only have two controls to play with, unlike the XLT 30 which is
menu driven.
I will have to say that for the times that I REALLY need to narrow things down then the Metrotech gets put into service.
That's just my opinion and we all know what they are worth!
