Hydro Static Valve

Found that a old Hydro valve is leaking in a twenty some year old concrete pool. Should be simple have done many of these before. Well my plastic remove tool dogged the ears on it and then broke one off.
Next I tried to use a basin wrench, it would not budgie the thing.

Upon looking closely I noticed what appears to be glue around the edge of the valve threads. Could be they use some plumber putty or other glue on the threads.

Anyone have any ideas as to how to remove it. I broke the top plate off, so now its cemented down with epoxy.

depending on the size and make a tool called fitting saver or it's big brother the pipe hog will work with an air drill

if it is a pvc hydro, break off the top seal and cut verticaly into the threads with a hacksaw blade in a handle.when you cut through the pipe part of the hydro make another cut the same way and start prying with screwdriver. I have done this many times and only takes a couple minutes.
