anderson XLT's

Hi Lance,
Would you have time to look at the fisher XLT's on Ebay and tell us what if any differences are obvious to you from your XLT's. I do not expect you to know what the ebay sellers have exactly but was hoping to hear your version of why I should buy from Anderson. I did notice the Anderson price is a little more and suspect there is a good reason. I'm not trying to step on your toes, just trying to be an informed consumer.

Hap:

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

The Hydrophone only works with special XLT30 models that Fisher makes for us exclusively (XLT30H).

We have worked extensively with Fisher to improve the frequency range of this model to make it better suited for swimming pool specific leak location. When the XL16 and XLT20 where replaced with the XLT17 and XLT30 the new units where designed by Fisher to emphasize lower frequency sounds at the expense of sounds in the higher frequency ranges. This was advantageous for use in the municipality industry (where leaks are in bigger pipes deeper underground) but it caused real problems especially for those using the unit with a hydrophone for swimming pool leak detection. The XLT30H units we now have Fisher make for us are better suited for all applications encountered by pool leak professionals.

Aside form these product differences, you can all appreciate that there is always a competitor out there who can undercut price. E-bay allows for a guy with a computer in his bedroom to be able to sell the same product we do. We like to think we are different and we hope that the difference is found to be valuable by those who do business with us.

•We keep stock of Fisher products for same day next day delivery if you need it.
•We stock replacement parts.
•We maintain and stock a complete line of pool leak related products.
•We add to this product selection by actively researching and developing unique products that will help your business.
•We provide and man an 800 number for customer service before, during, and after the sale.
•We offer a generous 30 day money back guarantee on all products we sell to assure that you are happy with your purchases.
•We maintain a presence at trade shows around the country to foster personal relationships with our customers.
•We attempt to provide instruction on how to use the equipment through tradeshow seminars, maintenance of our website, phone support, and publication contributions, in order to benefit the professionalism of the industry.
•We offer a free referral service to those who are interested in generating leak business.
•And . . .We offer this forum to help you share knowledge with each other.

Providing this level of service is something that we feel is critical for both our own success and the success of our customers. Our goal is to make the “partnership” of interacting with us be more than just the transaction of a product. Since such a transaction however is our primary way of funding the “partnership,” our prices while always below what is suggested by the manufacturer, will not be at the level of a discounter.

Thanks Lance, that's good info for me to grind between my ears. It's becoming clear to me I'll have to save for a "H" series Fisher unit.

Do you have any shows out west this year? Phoenix, So Cal, or Lost Wages Nevada? Lots of pools out here sir. We're in a drought, my local Phoenix newspaper (Arizona Republic) ran front page articles on finding and stopping home and pool leaks. The first one ran on Sunday May 20th......front page with a picture of a pool and some sub heading text that read "1000 gallons a day....etc" No images on the link but they do mention pool leaks early on in the text.
